成人基础教育是为那些没有完成高中教育的加拿大公们民和移民设置的. 有一定英文基础的移民可参加此项目. 所有社区都有成人基础教育班. 该项目是免费教育, 只要是成年( 20 岁以上)的加国公民,移民或难民, 都可免费入学. 因名额有限, 有些社区须报名排队等候.

成人基础教育有两种学习方式, 一种是全日制, 每天六个小时, 由教师在课堂讲课或辅导, 10-15周为一学期. 另一种是自学, 学生可自己安排学习时间, 自修高中课程, 但每周至少要在学习中心听两次讲师的课.

成人基础教育的课程内容有英语, 数学, 社会学, 历史, 生物, 科学, 电脑等高中课程.

有的学区还设有许多有趣的华人成人教育课程(收费), 例如本拿比社区, 开办社交舞, 风水学理, 保健气功, 投资加拿大证券及股票市场等班级, 用国语和粤语教授.
