I submitted the application
for independent immigratation
to Buffalo and received the
receipt notice at the end of
2001. If I will leave US before
I receive the Notice of assessment,
I should notice the Buffalo
the changing of my address.
Question1:
Do I need to tell Buffalo to
change the office of interview?
Currently I indicated Los Angels,
but I will not be able to take
it if I will be back to China.
Answer1:
Better to notify the change
of your mailing address well
in advance so that the Consulate
will be able to contact you
at the correct mailing address.
If an interview is required
and it is impossible for you
to attend it in Buffalo, you
will have to transfer your file
to the Canadian Embassy in Beijing.
This process will take about
1 to 3 months to complete.
Question2:
If my spouse and I are in two
different countries, how do
we take the medical exam?
Answer2:
There will be the designated
doctors in every country around
the world.
Question3:
If I notice Buffalo that I will
be back to China, will they
transfer my document to China,
which may take longer time to
process?
Answer3:
They will not transfer your
file unless you make the request
and pay the file transfer fee
(US$65 payable to the "Canadian
Consulate General"). Yes,
once the file is transferred,
it will be treated as a new
one (start waiting from the
very beginning).
